Merry Christmas!

December 6, 2010

Dear Friends and Family,

Again, it is hard to believe that it is Christmas time again already. We are excited that it is here though. It has been a busy year full of challenges and blessings. The weather down in Georgia has finally decided let winter settle in. A couple of weeks ago it was almost 80 degrees. Last night it got down in the 20s! We were able to take a trip to Mississippi and Alabama the week of Thanksgiving. We gathered with the Walleys for a special gathering on Tuesday. We celebrated Thanksgiving outside in warm weather in Mobile with Leslie's grandparents and family. Leslie joined the gals on their regular Friday shopping spree at 3:30 am.

Aaron is keeping very busy between several tasks. The church is keeping him busier than ever (that's good because it keeps him out of trouble.) He is also keeping very busy with school. This will be his last year of classes and in January, 2012 he will begin writing his dissertation. This year Aaron also joined the adjunct faculty of our alma mater, Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee, as an instructor in their online program. This year he has taught the course Introduction to Biblical Studies twice. In January he will teach Bible Doctrines. It is a challenge to keep up with everything but he really enjoys all that he does. In October, Aaron had some surgery and is recovering very well. The doctors are very pleased with the progress that he has made so far, and we are glad that it has seemed so far to have fixed the problems he had been having. It has been an adjustment though getting used to a new diet but he is doing really well.

Leslie is also very busy these days. This year she is teaching third grade at the same school she has been at since we moved to Columbus. Her class is not quite as big this year (which is a big blessing) but they are still a handful. Her class and the other third graders presented the Christmas program at the school this year. They were all so cute and did a marvelous job. Leslie has also had her hands full helping with the Christmas programs at church this year. With all that, she still somehow finds time to continue to work on her Master's degree. Her studies continue to go well and she will finish this next semester with her classes and have comprehensives in the summer. She has done so well in school that she was inducted in the national honor society Phi Kappa Phi!

Walley has fully recovered from last year's homeward journey when he was a runaway for three months. He has gained all of his weight back and does not seem so interested in exploring the world anymore. He enjoys going on trips with us though, even if it is just to the store, he always wants to ride along.

We pray that you and your family have a marvelous, Christ-filled Christmas! If you find yourselves in Columbus stop in for a visit. We would love to have you.

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!

Aaron, Leslie, and Walley
